Course Overview

The Upskilla Cyber Security Accelerator programme is a full-time, skills development program that prepares individuals for an entry-level professional position in cyber security. Through real-world, scenario-based learning, practical activities and coursework, learners gain the technical skills they need for cyber security roles. The course is aimed at accelerating your entry into one of the world’s most exciting and important careers with incredible earning potential.

Course Curriculum

Week 1-5

During the first 5 weeks, delegates will build their knowledge of networking. This includes: Networking Fundamentals, networking services and architecture. Network implementations, routing technologies both wired and wireless technologies. Network Operations, ensuring business continuity. Network Security, security concepts and preventing attacks. Network Troubleshooting, troubleshooting common hardware and software issues related to networking.

Week 6-10

During weeks 6-10, delegates will explore core security functions. This includes: Attacks, Threats and Vulnerabilities, Focusing on threats, attacks, and vulnerabilities. Architecture and Design, reliance on the cloud and how organizations transition to hybrid networks. Implementation, administering identity, access management, PKI, basic cryptography, wireless, and end-to-end security. Operations and Incident Response, organizational security assessment and incident response. Governance, Risk and Compliance, support organizational risk management and compliance to regulations.

Week 11-16

During weeks 11-16, delegates will explore high-stakes security analysis. This includes: Security Operations, security operations, threat intelligence and threat hunting concepts. Vulnerability Management, Implement and analyse vulnerability assessments. Incident Response and Management, apply attack methodology frameworks, perform incident response activities. Reporting and Communication, apply communication best practices in vulnerability management.
